ABOUT ADFASnewcastle
ADFAS connects people with the arts, and with each other.
Each year ADFAS Newcastle offers nine evening lectures on the arts. Speakers are specialists from Newcastle, Australia and the UK. After each lecture we come together with the lecturer for conversation and light refreshments.
And there’s more – twice a year there are two morning lectures with morning tea (ticketed events). On occasion we offer special events.
We support arts projects and initiatives in our region. Young Arts provides grants to local youth arts groups. The Schools of Arts team researches the stories behind these iconic buildings. We have completed one Church Recording – the story of a local church.
Our work over thirty years was recognised in 2020 when ADFAS Newcastle was awarded the Marsh Award for International Arts Society Committee of the Year.
